Every year we like to document the flow of water through Aanandaa during monsoons. It gives us an idea of how much rain has fallen that year, assures us that all the water falling on the property is being slowed down, channelised and stored on the property.
This year we had better rains than 2013-14-15 but still not at the same level as 2012. We continue to be drought struck. And that is why harvesting water is so critical. Even though our reservoirs dry up within a few days of filling up, but the water is being taken up by the biomass in terms of trees, plants and bushes. The trees have grown significantly these rains, and the grass & shrubs make for good fodder for our grazing animals.
